The vehicle body is exposed to considerable loads during fast driving, mainly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer to one side of the vehicle can result in up to three times more force being transferred than to the other side. This causes body flex and torsional deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
