When driving at speed, the vehicle body is subjected to significant loads, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater loads on the body, as well as flexing and twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Flexing and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps reduce undesirable body deformation.
