The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in significant body twisting and deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The upper strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front dampers and increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
