The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater loads on the body, causing it to bend and twist and consequently reducing tyre grip.
Bending and twisting of the body during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
This front upper strut brace connects the mounting points at the top of the front suspension and helps reduce body twisting.
