The vehicle body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly noticeable when weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
In certain situations, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in increased loads, twisting and deformation of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounting points and increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
