When driving quickly through corners, braking hard and accelerating, the vehicle body is subjected to significant loads. The transfer of mass generates forces that can cause the body to twist and flex.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This results in increased body flex, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Unwanted deformation and twisting of the chassis can worsen the vehicle’s handling and cause understeer or oversteer. The brace connects the upper mounting points of the front struts and helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
