When cornering quickly, braking hard and accelerating, the vehicle body is subjected to significant loads, primarily due to the transfer of the vehicle’s weight.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can cause the body to bend, twist and deform, consequently reducing tyre grip.
Body twisting during cornering can affect vehicle handling and cause understeer or oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points and helps reduce unwanted body twisting.
