The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is mainly caused by the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, hard braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant body twisting and deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps further connect the mounting points of the upper strut mounts, thereby increasing the stiffness of this part of the body.
