The vehicle body is exposed to the greatest loads during fast driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause significant body flex and deformation, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front dampers, thereby further stiffening the front part of the body.
