The car body is subjected to high loads during high-speed driving, heavy braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of body weight.
When cornering quickly, the forces on one side of the vehicle can increase by up to three times compared with the other side. This causes the body to bend and twist, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
