The car’s chassis is exposed to heavy loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in greater chassis or body flex and twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and twisting when cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
