Ultra Racing front upper strut brace for Volvo S80 I

The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.

When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.

Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace increases the stiffness of the connection between the upper mounting points of the front suspension and helps limit unwanted body movement.
