When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in greater loads on the body, twisting and deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
