The car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly true due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in high loads on the chassis, as well as twisting and deformation of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The interior chassis brace helps limit these unwanted body movements.
