The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and intense acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis twisting or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra-R lower chassis brace is designed to increase body stiffness in the mounting area and provide a more predictable vehicle response. It is secured to 6 mounting points.
