The vehicle chassis is the part most exposed to stress while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex, as well as bodywork deformation and torsional twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower brace helps increase chassis rigidity in this area.
