The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. The result is greater chassis twisting, body deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower brace helps limit these loads on the body.
