A vehicle’s chassis is exposed to high loads during fast driving, heavy braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of the vehicle’s body mass.
When driving through corners, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the chassis, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps increase body rigidity in this area.
