The vehicle chassis is one of the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant bending, deformation and torsion of the chassis, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
