The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
In certain cases, weight transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant bending and twisting of the chassis, or deformation of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps reduce these unwanted movements of the body.
