The vehicle chassis is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to 3 times greater than on the other side. This causes the chassis or body to bend and twist, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis bending and twisting while driving through a corner can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower brace helps increase chassis stiffness in this area.
