The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident when the body’s mass is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In certain situations, load transfer while cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This results in significant bending and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the lower section of the chassis and limit its twisting.
