The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in greater chassis flex or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps increase body rigidity and limit its flex.
