The mid lower chassis brace is designed to reduce body twisting and flexing during dynamic driving. The chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant flexing or deformation and twisting of the chassis, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
