The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest stress during driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant bending and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps further connect the suspension mounting points and reduce unwanted body movement.
