A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is especially true due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes considerable chassis flexing or deformation and torsion of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce chassis flexing and improve body rigidity. It is attached to 4 mounting points.
This version is intended for Volkswagen Beetle A5 vehicles with 2WD and 1.2T and 1.4T engines; it is also compatible with the 1.4T Cabriolet/Convertible version.
