The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. These loads are caused mainly by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and flexing of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps increase body stiffness in the mounting area.
