A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. When cornering, braking hard or accelerating, these loads are mainly affected by the transfer of the body’s weight.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in bodywork twisting and deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex during cornering can also cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of the rear part of the bodywork.
