A car’s chassis is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the body or chassis to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear frame brace helps increase structural stiffness and improve the vehicle’s responsiveness.
