A car’s chassis is subjected to significant loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in greater chassis twisting or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase body stiffness around the rear axle.
