A vehicle’s chassis is heavily loaded during dynamic driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in greater chassis flex, body deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can lead to poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase body stiffness in the mounting area.
