The car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This can result in considerable chassis twisting and body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace is designed to reduce such deformation. It attaches at 4 points.
The product is intended for the BMW M5 (E39) with a 4.9 V8 engine, 2WD and a manual gearbox.
Suitable for: BMW 5 IV (E39).
