The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce unwanted bending and twisting of the rear section of the chassis.
