A vehicle’s chassis is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the chassis or body to twist and deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body and improve vehicle responsiveness.
