The vehicle chassis is one of the most heavily loaded parts during dynamic driving. Loads occur mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater chassis twisting and deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
