A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in considerable chassis flex and body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
