The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in considerable chassis twisting and body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. This rear lower chassis brace helps further connect the mounting points at the rear of the body.
