The vehicle chassis is one of the most heavily loaded parts, as it is affected by body mass transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in greater chassis flex, body deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
