The chassis or body shell is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. High loads occur mainly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
During fast cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This causes the chassis to bend, twist and undergo torsional deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace is designed to increase the rigidity of the lower part of the body and reduce these undesirable effects.
