A car’s chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is especially apparent when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times more force than the other. This can result in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower brace helps increase chassis rigidity in the mounting area.
