The car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is especially true due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When weight is transferred through a corner, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The chassis brace helps reduce unwanted body twisting and improve the stiffness of the rear section of the vehicle.
