The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. It is particularly exposed due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and intensive acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause significant bending and twisting of the chassis, or deformation of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce these undesirable effects and increase the rigidity of the rear section of the chassis.
