The car’s chassis is heavily loaded while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and sharp acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to significant chassis flex or bodywork deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation when driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the bodywork.
