The vehicle chassis is among the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to significant twisting and bending of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the bodywork.
