The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is especially pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can result in pronounced twisting and deformation of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
