The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace is designed to increase the chassis stiffness of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class (W163). It attaches to 2 mounting points.
The vehicle’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of the bodywork’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This can result in considerable chassis flex, bodywork deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
