The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant bending and twisting of the chassis or body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace is designed to increase body stiffness around the rear axle. It attaches at 2 points.
