The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to 3 times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex, deformation and body twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to provide additional support to the lower rear section of the chassis and reduce unwanted body twisting.
