During fast driving, the vehicle chassis is exposed to significant loads, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant chassis twisting and body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can lead to poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
