The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, hard braking or intense acceleration.
In certain situations, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can result in significant chassis twisting, body deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause unwanted driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps limit such body movements.
